A manufacturer of high temperature furnaces needed to build equipment for a volatile work environment. Materials involved in the process would release corrosive and electrically conductive materials into the atmosphere in a sealed work space. All equipment had to be built into sealed NEMA 4 stainless steel enclosures.

This meant that standard air cooling for the SCRs was out of the question. The furnaces use high output power transformers (480V 300KVA) to drive massive low voltage graphite heaters. Avatar Instruments engineering designed both single and three phase water cooled versions of the B series SCR power controllers. The new assemblies were designed with standard NEMA 4 sub panels as the back plates.

From design to delivery took four weeks total.
